HELLO, IT'S ME

BLOG

HELLO, IT'S ME

Jazmyn

Long time no blog, eh? Work’s been crazy (I was assigned a 60-day detail working 10ish hours a day 6 days a week!) and in addition, we’ve been busy with the holidays. I also, quite honestly, have been feeling a little down about blogging lately. I’ve felt a little disappointed in the lack of support I’ve received from people who I feel like I am very supportive of and I started questioning the purpose - is it really worth my time, etc. But I’ve decided that blogging is something I enjoy doing, (and maybe a few of you fine folk enjoy reading) so yes, it is absolutely worth my time!

For the holidays, we visited Q’s family in Lancaster, CA. It’s a small town in the desert (we almost got hit by a tumbleweed while driving - legit desert!) about an hour north of Los Angeles. The desert landscape is really quite stunning, and it’s surrounded by mountains, so it’s a cute place.

We didn’t spend much time in Los Angeles, but we did drive down to visit my side of the family and see a few sights. We popped into LACMA (this is the place everyone goes to take those lamppost photos you see on Instagram) and saw the Picasso and Rivera exhibit. Stunning, absolutely stunning. We didn’t get to see Picasso in Barcelona so we felt it’d be worth the time and money. I would love to go back as we barely saw any of the rest of the museum outside of the Picasso/Rivera exhibit because we were rushing to have dinner and then hang out with my family. I’ve realized that I really enjoy art and would like to learn more about that. 2017 resolution? Maybe.

MUCH MORE THAN THE FAMED LAMPPOSTS - NOT TO SAY THAT WASN'T A BEAUTIFUL INSTALLATION, JUST SAYING THERE'S A LOT MORE TO THE MUSEUM

We also stopped by Nobu in West Hollywood and enjoyed a delectable, albeit pricey, meal. I wouldn’t go there if I’m starving unless I’ve got a lot of money to spend but the ambiance was nice, I felt a little like a celebrity.

Anyways, I am SO excited for 2017 - you guys will see we’ve got a lot planned (6 countries booked and our first couples trip)! Is there anything you’d like me to write more about this coming year? If so, let me know in the comments!
